"Get in the Dirt with your People!!!"

A statement we've made a lot around here. It all started with some posts made on LinkedIn over 4 years ago. This message has been shared over 300 times, almost 9,000 reactions so far, and almost 800 comments !!  WHY is this resonating so much with so many people??  Because it's true!! Read the post below...

"I know you’re sick of hearing it....Not sure I care though. GET IN THE DIRT WITh YOUR PEOPLE! I don’t care about your college education. I don’t care about your experience. I don’t care about what you think you know. You can’t make policy for your people unless you are in the dirt with them. I’m sick to death of safety managers, and Opps staff who think they can earn trust and manage well from your safe little office. We need to get in the mud! We need to strive to see what works. It’s a struggle but it’s well worth it!!" 

 

This message pertains to any industry and job situation.  This pertains to your family. How?  It pertains because people are involved.  We need to be 'in the mix' whether thats being a parent or a leader at the office or jobsite. Get involved!  Ask questions and see what people are thinking, what do they need, what do they wish the higher-ups knew? And then do your best to make improvements. Employees want to know that you care about them. Our kids want to know that we care, we understand, and we're not just throwing the rule books at them! 

Get in the Dirt! Strive to see what works. It's a struggle but it's well worth it!!! You've Got this!!!

 

Keep Building that Legacy that will far surpass your Legend!  and start inspiring others to do the same!
